When James Lloyd died in 1865, this seemed to be an incentive for his widow Elmira Lloyd to do something very special for the women of Birmingham. She purchased land, building the original Almshouses in Small Heath in 1869, creating the charity we know today.
2019 was a year of celebration beginning in July with our summer hog roast party, commemorative service and fine dining at Hogarths Hotel, Solihull.
